Bio
Eva Vallada is an Associate Professor with a Ph.D. in Computer Science at the Polytechnic University of Valencia (Universitat Politècnica de València). She currently works at the Department of Applied Statistics and Operational Research, and Quality at the same university.
Eva Vallada is a researcher in the Grupo de Sistemas de Optimización Aplicada (SOA) at the Instituto Tecnológico de Informática (ITI), where she develops her research work mainly in the scheduling area. Her research encompasses scheduling problems, optimization algorithms, and collaborative research initiatives.
Research Focus
Scheduling Problems: She has worked extensively on the unrelated parallel machine scheduling problem with one scarce additional resource to minimize the maximum completion time of the jobs or makespan. Her research includes genetic algorithms for parallel machines scheduling problems with sequence dependent setup times and weighted earliness-tardiness minimization.
Optimization Algorithms: Her research involves developing heuristics following strategies such as considering resource constraints during the whole solution construction process. She has published work on scheduling unrelated parallel machines with sequence dependent setup times and weighted earliness-tardiness minimization.
Collaborative Research: Eva Vallada has been involved in organizing academic workshops and has collaborated with researchers like Angel A. Juan on simheuristic algorithms for solving the permutation flow-shop problem with stochastic processing times.
